Previously, captains of the Indian Premier League franchises would make a pledge by signing a ceremonial doc to uphold the spirit of cricket through the opening ceremony.

This time round, the skippers of the eight groups made a web based pledge which was screened on the Wankhede Stadium forward of the opening match of the IPL between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Tremendous Kings on Saturday.

The game has come beneath scrutiny up to now couple of weeks after the Australian trio of Steve Smith, David Warner and Cameron Brancroft had been discovered responsible of premeditated ball-tampering throughout a Check match in opposition to South Africa.

Within the video, Chennai Tremendous Kings captain MS Dhoni says, “I hereby take the pledge to play arduous and play truthful.” Rajasthan Royals’ Ajinkya Rahane, who took over the management duties from Steve Smith, says, “I shall prepared the ground by upholding the beliefs of truthful play.”
