Prabh Simran Singh is an up and coming talent from Punjab who has already breached the gates of the world’s most lucrative T20 competition by finding himself a multi-million contract.
The 20-year-old is yet to play make his first-class debut, but his claim to fame came when he smashed 298 from just 301 balls with 29 boundaries and 13 sixes in an Under-23 district tournament in 2018. He led the Indian team to victory in the Under-19 Asia Cup last year, and has been widely regarded as a hard-hitting wicketkeeper-batsman.
Prabhsimran Singh – the Patiala-based wicketkeeper-batsman – was one of the highlights of the player auctions prior to IPL 2019; he attracted a huge price tag of INR 4.8 crore, eventually being signed up by Kings XI Punjab. He majorly warmed the bench during the 2019 season and played only a single game, but the dasher will be hopeful of his chances in the new 2020 season.
Former India wicket-keeper Kiran More was highly impressed with Singh’s talent during his stay at the National Cricket Academy. He is the cousin brother of Punjab Ranji cricketer, Anmolpreet Singh who was snapped by Mumbai Indians for INR 80 lakhs. The two cousins, in fact, shared a 239-run partnership in the game Prabhsimran made his own with the near-triple hundred. He idolises Virender Sehwag, but being a keeper-batsman, no one comes above Adam Gilchrist for the 17-year-old.
